All Donations Doubled! The Campaign Ends April 30!

The Preserve Our Paradise Campaign will end on April 30! From now until the end of the campaign, all donations of any size will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to a total of $200,000. The Preserve Our Paradise campaign has already made a big difference to our operations and skiing experience. Learn more about what’s been accomplished and what’s still to come.

Now, it’s time to tackle the campaign’s largest projects. We urgently need to address many years of deferred maintenance on the Basebox, and the inadequate facilities for our legendary ski patrol. Planning is currently underway for essential renovations to the Basebox and Patrol buildings. The budget for these building projects will depend upon your support by April 30!

Every donation of $250 or more through April 30 will be entered into a raffle for a full Mad River Glen season pass.

Don’t miss this chance to maximize your gift and preserve & protect this special place!

Grift Fundraiser a Big Success

The fundraiser on Saturday, March 23 with the Grift was a big success, raising $2,280 for the Preserve Our Paradise Campaign. The Grift is always a favorite band at Mad River, and they rocked General Stark’s pub with their non-stop energy and mix of covers and original tunes. Thanks to everyone who donated!

Skiing for Scholars Program Launched

On February 15, the Skiing for Scholars program launched at Mad River Glen. This innovative program works to afford local kids the opportunity to enjoy the sport of skiing. It is available to all students enrolled in the Mad River Valley, Waterbury, Bristol, and Lincoln area schools. The program offers free skiing on Friday afternoons, free rentals of equipment, and free instruction with the Mad River Ski School and coaches from the Mad River Ski Club. The program was funded by a grant from the Reed Family Foundation.

A Big Step Forward for Campaign Building Projects!

The Mad River Glen Cooperative recently took a big step forward in the planning for the two largest projects to be funded by the Preserve Our Paradise Campaign. The Board of Trustees approved the selection of two professional services firms to work on plans for the renovations to the Basebox and the Patrol Building. Vermont Integrated Architecture, P.C. has been selected review the two buildings and prepare conceptual drawings. Naylor & Breen Builders, Inc. has been selected to provide construction management services, including developing cost assessments and timelines. Both firms were selected after extensive review by the Cooperative Facilities Committee and General Manager Matt Lillard. The goal is to present conceptual designs at the Coop annual meeting on April 6.

Congratulations to both firms and we look forward to seeing the conceptual designs for these two important projects!

Roll Back the Clock Day Sparks Donations

On January 29, Mad River Glen held its annual “Roll Back the Clock Day,” in which the day ticket price is rolled all the way back to the original 1949 price of $3.50 for a full day of skiing. Needless to say, this is a very popular promotion that draws many people new to the mountain. This year, skiers were given the option to round up their purchase with an optional donation to support the Preserve Our Paradise Campaign. We’re pleased to announce that a total of 210 donors gave $742.50 to the campaign! Thank you to all the folks who bumped their ticket purchase up in order to help preserve Mad River Glen!
